The guides, tools and price records on this site are general information about antiques and collectables. They are not a valuation of any particular object, not financial advice, and not a substitute for a written valuation from a qualified valuer, which is what a court, an insurer or HM Revenue and Customs will ask for.

Prices quoted are hammer prices from auctions, or are marked as illustrative where live records are not yet in place. They show what a comparable object made on a particular day and do not promise what yours will make.

The hallmark tables and makers' register are compiled from standard references and are checked, but errors are possible. Confirm any reading against the assay office records before relying on it.
